famine camp 2006
whee!! back from famine camp. first time went there and i believe will not be my last time. it was an unforgettable experience. learn many things in the process of having fun. day 1 we were assigned our groups and roles. i am bilguun powhatan. i am the father of 11 kids. (OMG cant believe if its real life) so "disaster" struck. have tp report to the relief agency to look for my facilitator. yanyi. she is a nice person=)). then as the father of the family. i was tasked to find the rest of the family members. these members are scattered across different places. there are 3 evacuation centres and 1 hospital. so have to go around looking for those people. but some have not registered at those points thus need to keep going back to check. finally all found. their names are all very weird larhx. okie so my group has 4 guys and 9 girls. very unbalanced. there were people from VJ SA even NUS. haha. fun to know them. got amanda wan ting victoria fujing bing shen zheng xian kelvin yang le yen nee madhu marilyn and doreen. yarhx. cant really identify all i guess.
so after we are together. not long later it was day 2. have to get money to build shelters. there were jobs that can be done. can go some places claim the reliefs provided by government and other agencies. need vacination. was fun. when round trying to get money. then we went black market to buy materials to build stuffs. but got fine=(( but we still got our shelter up.
day 3(simulated one larhx). have to earn 65 bucks. what we left from the previous day was 6 bucks. but not bad manage to earn 41 bucks wothout going to prostitution. wahahaha!! we kinda cheat at one of the station. wahah. but wasa really fun. then we realise out shelter was gone. haha. so o more shelter. it was meant to be the place for the guys to sleep. but never mind. cause in the end i never sleep at all. sneak out to watch world cup at the coffeeshop outside SAJC. not bad. the matches was nice. but after that was tired. oh yarhx. between each days were some talks. some enriching and interesting. some boring.
morning. have to go collect old newspaper old clothes toys at tampines. haha. tiring arhx!!! never sleep then still have to do these menial stuffs. haha. but still quite okay. as while waiting we have chances to sleep. then back to school lorhx. clean up. got alot time left. played cards. haha. was when i can remember those few people names. haha. then watch an hr concert. okie larhx. was not too bad. but think too tired keep dozing off. oh yarhx. joi choy (cai cun jia) came. she looks good and sings well. heh.
all those activities mentioned above were carried out without any food during the camp!! they say 30 hrs. but few of those i know we were more than that. cause never eat lunch and breakfast befre that. lol. so after the thing break fast!!!! can eat ler. but the food. erm. BK chicken or fish burger. 1 bread. 1 cake. quite sian arhx. haha. overall think that the camp was quite fun and enriching. thought the cam[ did not really help those african kids. but definetly increase our awarness about these situations. maybe next time? heh. feel like going for some more of such camps!!
